Incredible Grasslands

FOHW are delighted to announce that the agreement with Plantlife has now been signed. This gives the go ahead for a project to improve the quality and biodiversity of Hell Wath’s grassland areas. We will kick-off with a site visit from Plantlife’s project managers on 18th July to assess the state of our existing grassland areas and identify key actions to improve the quality and biodiversity of these areas.
Grassland areas are really important habitats, clearly demonstrated by a graphic produced by Plantlife, which can be viewed here. FOHW have already received a £1,000 grant from Plantlife to undertake key actions identified by the site visit and we will also benefit from access their expertise and from making connections with five other local green spaces that are also part of the overall project. These are: Autism Plus ( Park House Barns), Foxglove Covert, Grow Wild York, Riccall Woodmeadow and The Island.
We will keep you updated as the project progresses.
