Using Our Lotto Winnings

In February FOHW won £250 in a Local Lotto Prize Draw. We have used this money to purchase wildflower seeds, which were sown on the upper meadows of Hell Wath over the weekend of 22/23rd April by volunteers from Harrogate Army Foundation College.
This is part of our long term grassland management plan to increase the diversity of plants growing on these meadows. Our plan, over time, is to increase the diversity of plants to attract more of, and a greater variety of, insects to Hell Wath. This in turn will support an increase in the numbers and diversity of bird and small mammal species, who depend on insects as a food source.
Buying a weekly tickets for the Local Lotto is a great way to support the Friends of Hell Wath. Click here to find out how to support us and be in with a chance to win great prizes too.
